On 2 July 2016, High Town Road promises to be your go-to place again this summer for the fourth annual High Town Festival.
Music and performances
Saturday will see a stunning and diverse line-up of Luton musicians on the main stage, including bands Exit Black and The Knockouts.
Returning after their success last year are Luton Sixth Form performing the hits of Queen, the Luton Youth Jazz Orchestra, plus jazz duo Konni Deppe and Martin Slade.
It all starts with a parade of schoolchildren in their Carnival costumes down High Town Road, led by the Luton Irish Forum Emerald Pipe Band.
Rides and games
There will be a range of activities for children, with ‘community sports’ at St Matthew’s Primary School on Havelock Road, rides and games.
Food and shopping
You can stop for a snack at the shops on High Town Road or the food vans lining the street, and there are bound to be some local crafts or bric-a-brac to buy at the many stalls.
Community activities
To round off the weekend, Sunday will see churches in the area getting together for a collective act of worship at the High Town Methodist Church.
